Police have released an image of two people they would like to speak to in connection with an assault in Tameside.

At around 3:40am on Sunday 28 November 2021, a 19-year-old-man was punched on Market Street, Stalybridge.

The victim was treated at the scene by ambulance staff and at hospital for a bleed on the brain - he was put into an induced coma until his condition stabilised. 

He spent five days in hospital but has now recovered and has not believed to have sustained any lasting damage.

A woman, also 19, was struck to the ground in the same incident but was uninjured.

Detective Constable Ryan O'Hanlon, of Ashton-under-Lyne CID, said: "This happened near to The White House pub and we would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident.

"It was captured on CCTV and we hope the two people in the footage can assist us with our enquiries.

"The male is white, around 5'8" with dark hair wearing dark coloured jeans or trousers, a grey or light green padded jacket and a grey hoody. 

"The female is also white, with dark hair, wearing a knee-length black coat, black trousers or leggings, and white trainers."
